Work history: CIA intelligence officer (1999-2014), Head of Security at the During Foundation  (2014-2015).

Weaknesses: Can become obsessive or paranoid, vulnerablity, sexual promiscuity, can become affected by intense emotions.

 

Best moments: Discovering that she alone had been right about Nicholas Brody working for Al Qaeda, becoming station chief in Pakistan, persuading Saul Berenson to take part in a prisoner exchange, preventing a terrorist attack in Berlin, kissing Peter Quinn, protecting Otto During in Lebanon, managing two years sober from alcohol, accepting her bipolar disorder and taking her medication, realising that Allison was a double agent and being strong enough in her conviction to convince Saul Berenson.

 

Hardest moments: Realising that she is and will always be 'alone', attempting suicide after being rejected by the CIA, the breakdown of her relationship with Saul Berenson, seeing Peter Quinn close to death after a chemical weapon attack, being an inpatient in a psychiatric hospital as a result of a manic episode, being used by Saul Berenson and Dar Adal on several occasions because of her vulnerablity, hallucinating Aayan Ibrahim while experiencing mania and paranoia.

 

Random facts: Carrie does not eat meat.  She has a history of alcohol misuse and during season five, she revealed that she was two years sober showing that she is trying to address this.  Carrie was born in Missouri but was brought up in Maryland after her father lost his job.  Carrie's bipolar disorder was diagnosed while she was at university after she ran through the snow wearing only a jacket to the first professor she saw having written a thesis called 'How I Reinvented Music'.  Carrie sometimes wears a wedding ring to bars to field off unwanted attention from men, a tip that was given to her by her close friend Virgil while they were in Beirut in 2006.
